Pilkington K Glass™

A staggering 26% of all domestic heat loss escapes through the windows. All of our windows feature the latest in glass technology from Pilkington. To help achieve a low U-value we have incorporated some of Pilkington's latest glass developments into our windows.

Windows can be one of the greatest energy wasters of any house and in these days of spiralling energy bills this can add up to a lot of wasted money. Choosing the right combination of window components can make a huge difference to a home's energy efficiency and can contribute to significant energy cost savings year on year.

When it comes to windows, many homeowners focus on the frame style and security features, assuming that all double glazing is equally energy efficient. In fact, there are huge differences in performance and, perhaps surprisingly, it is the glass that is the most important element in optimising the energy efficiency of windows.

Advances in glass technology are revolutionising the energy saving capabilities of new window glass.

Traditional energy saving glass has been around for a number of years, but recent innovations mean that the best performing products can not only reduce heat loss but can actually offer net energy gains, increasing a home's energy efficiency and reducing energy consumption. All of this contributes to a smaller carbon footprint and enables us all to do our bit to help the environment.

Pilkington K Glass S

For over two decades Pilkington K Glass has been the UK’s best known energy efficient glass, in both trade and consumer markets. Now with the launch of Pilkington K Glass S, our new soft coat option, the range offers more choice than ever.

Pilkington K Glass S is a high performance, low-emissivity soft coated product which offers excellent thermal insulation when incorporated within an Insulating Glass Unit (IGU). Pilkington K Glass S has a highly neutral appearance with optimal solar heat gain, thermal insulation and light transmission to provide the highest Window Energy Rating (WER) performance.

Pilkington K Glass S is a single stock, soft coated glass which can be used in annealed form or toughened, resulting in a product with the same thermal performance and neutral appearance. Once fabricated into an IGU, it can be used in windows in all types of glazing applications in new houses, conservatories and in replacement windows for existing homes.
